How do you wish to express yourself as an artist? Feel like you could do with some support in getting your ideas onto canvas?

These three hourly sessions offer a supportive environment for you to develop your ideas and concepts into resolved works. Bring photos, drawings and images to kickstart your work.

Landscape Painting

This two day workshop will help you interpret and express the landscape in your own creative style. You will be encouraged to explore your emotional and intuitive responses to nature and be guided in employing composition, colour and mark-making in your work (includes a pléin air session at Lake Inverell). Bring along drawings, experimental ideas and photographs as starting points to work from.

Carolyn studied Fine Art in Brisbane in the 1990’s where she exhibited and taught until moving to Inverell in 2010. She exhibits regionally and in Brisbane and her works are held in private collections around the country. She holds undergraduate and post graduate degrees in Visual Art, Art Therapy and Education.  

Carolyn teaches painting and drawing at Inverell Art Gallery throughout the year. Her classes combine foundational lessons in techniques, Art History and Contemporary Art. Classes are suitable for all levels of experience and focus on supporting students in developing their own ideas into finished works. 

Carolyn also holds art and creativity classes for primary school children after school and during school holidays.

Children

This 8 week course will focus on the principles of Drawing and Painting. By the end of the term children will have amassed a folder of finished work.
